PATIO study

The aim of this study is to investigate if use of a computer model can reduce flare-ups during tapering of biologicals.

The PATIO-study was initiated by UMC Utrecht in collaboration with the Sint Maartenskliniek. Patients with rheumatoid arthritis can participate in this study if they:

Are taking a biological and would like to phase it out
Have little to no symptoms of their disease

Patients will be divided into two groups; 1) Step-wise dose reduction guided by disease activity; 2) ) Step-wise dose reduction guided by disease activity and use of a computer model to predict the probability of a flare and taper accordingly.

This is a multi-center study. As from summer 2022 patients from Sint Maartenskliniek can enter.
