Remote care for gout
In this project we aim to make care for gout patients better, more personalized and possibly more cost-effective by using eHealth (remote care using digital technology). The goal is the development of a tool/application.
Currently several studies are being conducted. Self-management is important in gout. Therefore we search literature for determinants of self-management behaviour in gout patients and how interventions can target these determinants. Next to that, we will organize focus groups with gout patients, to find support needs of patients and suitability of eHealth for these needs. Finally, there is a pilot ongoing with home uric acid testing meters. We are interested if patients find these meters useful and if they want to use them during their treatment. We also want to evaluate the effect on care and costs.
