OneStepBeyond
How does our body maintain balance while walking or when faced with challenges? What changes when this balance control is disrupted by illness or an accident? At the Sint Maartenskliniek, we constantly strive to better understand balance issues in our patients and learn from them.
Balance maintenance is a crucial aspect of our daily lives, but we often only truly notice it when it no longer functions correctly. Individuals with neurological disorders may experience severe balance problems, significantly affecting their quality of life.
With OneStepBeyond, we use various technologies such as the GRAIL and sensors to investigate the underlying causes of balance problems and learn from them. Additionally, we are developing tools to help assessing balance problems. With these findings, we aim to discover new avenues for therapies and assist therapists in evaluating balance performance.
