RE:HOME

RE:HOME – Many children with a neurological disorder like cerebral palsy, have difficulties with walking and hand use. Therefore, a lot of rehabilitation therapy is needed. The goal of the RE:HOME project is to develop new technologies which improve the rehabilitation (at home) in these children.

The REHOME project is an European corporation between technical, industrial and clinical partners from France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. Together we work on the development, evaluation and integration of an exoskeleton and innovative ankle-foot orthosis, an IT platform, measurement tools and education to improve the possibility to rehabilitate, preferably at home. Nobody likes having to come to the rehabilitation center for training and that certainly applies to these children and their parents. The REHOME project is financially supported by the European Union (Interreg North-West Europe) and started in 2024 for a period of 4 years.

The contribution of the Sint Maartenskliniek to the RE:HOME project will be:

  • Development and evaluation of an exoskeleton for assisted walking.
  • Involved as clinical partner in the evaluation of the IT platform and smart garment.
  • Development and evaluation of home training and rehabilitation exercises.
